Good morning people..... This is the second part of the jungle justice series..... I would like for us to read and share.... We need to see cruelty for what it is and put a stop to it.... #alllivesmatter

NOTE: I’m not making these stories up … I’ve witnessed these events that I now write about

JUNGLE JUSTICE 2
It was another day of living in the Ikotun area of Lagos, we woke up and began the house chores of the day, I washed plates while my sister cleaned and swept the house.
The event I’m about to describe occurred on the 14th of April 2020 at about 3:36pm…I know the date and time because I have a video to the effect of this story. I was washing when I saw a man yelling, machete in hand passing out to the main road, I observed with disinterest and went about my business. As usual it always starts with shouts and I stood up to check what was causing the noise… apparently the man I saw passing has been grabbed at the main road and was being beaten
The machete has long since being removed from his hand and he was being dragged back into the street with people slapping him from left and right… I decided to grab my phone and put this event in recording because it looked like they were going to kill this man and I wanted to be the one to give evidence if need be.
We did not know the crime that was committed but I think everyone assumed he had killed someone with the machete he was holding… no one allowed him to sufficiently explain himself as they rained slaps and blows on him.
I heard he was trying to say he wasn’t what we assumed he was because at that point we were having series of robbery attacks from the popular set known as the “1 million boys”. People did not believe him saying he was actually after a suspected informant of the set. While my mother was yelling at us to come back inside because she did not need any more crisis on her hands.
After some time of beatings two people passed on a bike, they were stopped and asked if there were from the next street which they replied in affirmative, then they were also asked if they knew the man in question and they said no. That seemed to aggravate the mob around him as they continued beating him. The police came and surrounded the man asking for explanations which he weakly gave. Apparently he was after a suspected person of the set and his friends were actually waiting for him in the next street and if he could be given a phone he would call them. People shouted at this and raved at how he wanted to call his fellow boys from the set to come and attack … saying he was probably the informant.
This back and forth continued for some time before about four men stopped on bikes and were shouting saying they heard what was happening… they effectively corroborated his story saying someone told them their friend was being beaten on the next street. They explained to the police and the mob that they were after someone they were suspecting to be informing the set about things going on in the area. Bloodied and battered their friend was released to them with the people dispersing. Now imagine with me if they did not come on time to give an alibi to this man. I wonder how he is faring now and I wonder if he still remembers almost being lynched to death for a crime he knows nothing about.
